Registration & Policies

Please read our registration, cancellation and sliding scale policies.
By signing up you are saying that you understand and agree to our policies.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

IMPORTANT!
Please DO NOT pay your supply fee with your tuition.
Please bring it to the instructor in cash on the day of the class!


HOW TO REGISTER
Choose your payment option below and follow the directions.

 

PAY BY CHECK

1. Check the class description for price of class and read our sliding scale policy below to determine what to pay.

2. Print out our MAIL-IN REGISTRATION FORM, fill it out and send to the address listed along with a check made out to WFCA/IUH. Alternately you may also submit the ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM, but your registration is not confirmed until we receive your payment.

3. Bring your supply fee in cash on the day of the class.

 

PAY WITH PAYPAL

1. Check the class description for price of class and read our sliding scale policybelow to determine what to pay.

2. Fill out ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM,, select PayPal option and submit. You will be charged a 4% handling fee.

3. You will be taken to a PayPal login window.

4. Bring your supply fee in cash on the day of the class.

 

PAY WITH A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD ONLINE

1. Check the class description for price of class and read our sliding scale policy below to determine what to pay.

2. Fill out ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM, select PayPal option and submit. You will be charged a 4% handling fee.

3. You will be taken to a PayPal login window, instead of logging in select "Don't Have A PayPal Account?" A window will open that will allow for a one time credit/debit card payment.

4. Bring your supply fee in cash on the day of the class.



PAY WITH A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD DIRECT OR BY PHONE MESSAGE

1. Check the class description for price of class and read our sliding scale policy below to determine what to pay.

2. Fill out ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM select credit card option. You will be charged a 4% handling fee.

3. Use the comment section to give us your card #, expiration and security code. Be sure to include your billing zip code. We will process your card usng Square Inc and will delete the email off our server immediautely.

OR

Call (510)927-3252 and leave your name and credit card information on our voicemail. Similarly, we will delete that message once we have processed the payment. We DO NOT hold records of your card anywhere.

4. Bring your supply fee in cash on the day of the class.




Sliding Scale Explained
Sliding scale gives you the option to pay what you feel you can afford along a scale of what the teacher thinks reasonable for their work. It is an honor system, so please honor the teachers by being as generous as you can. As a guideline, the bottom end of the scale is for folks who regularly scramble to come up with their rent The top end of the scale is for those who regularly spend more than $40 on a meal or travel outside the country. If both extremes describe you, please pay somewhere in the middle. If neither describes you, pay somewhere in the middle. Scholarships may be available for those truly in need. Please read our FAQ for more information and then use our contact form to inquire.

Pre-registration and pre-payment required

All classes require pre-registration and payment to hold your spot. There are no walk-ins. In rare cases, we may approve you to "pay-when-you-arrive." This is a good faith agreement . Should you not show up, for any reason, payment is still required for the service of holding your spot, preparing for your participation and turning others away who may have wanted to be there.

Confirmation
We will confirm your registration by email once we have received both your registration form and payment. If you have not heard from us within 5 days of mailing your check or paying with PayPal please contact us. We send you another email one week before the class to remind you it is happening and give you pertinent details of time, location etc. If you do not receive an email please contact us. Occasionally our emails go to the wrong address or land in the junk mail box and we won't know unless you get in touch. Generally a class has space until we put up the "class full" indication. However sometimes a class will fill up in the time between your mailing off a check and us receiving it. If this is the case, we will call you to notify you immediately and either return your money or apply it to another class of your choice.

Last Minute Registrations
Unless the calendar or class description lists a class as "Class Full" the class is still open and you may register. If it is less than 48 hours before the class you must use our online registration form and pay online or iwith a credit card. In rare cases we will accept payment on arrival at the class. If we approve you to "pay-when-you-arrive" this is a binding agreement that you will show up and that if you do not, you will still pay (see pre-regstration and pre-payment above).

CLASS LOCATION
You will be sent a confirmation email one week (give or take a day) before your class, with the exact location of the class. If you do not receive this email it is your responsibility to contact us to get the location of the class no later than 24 hours before the class to give us a chance to respond. Classes happen in different locations, so do not rely on anyone else to give you the location of the class, unless they are attending the same class. Please contact us directly. If you do not contact us and you cannot attend because you don't know where to go, it is considered a no show and we will not offer a credit or a refund.

CLASS TIMES
Start times on classes are absolute. Please plan on arriving 10 minutes early so that we can all start together. Class end times are approximate and can run a half hour longer or shorter. Please plan accordi
